Bluebells and Cockle shells

Writer: Krista MoserKrista Moser

I made a simple Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt in sweet pinks and soft greens a couple of years ago. This is now one of my free PDF patterns! Since then, I have seen that pattern made by others in the most beautiful color arrangements, including a blue version I just couldn't stop thinking about. It was time to try my own version in the blues that I liked so much, and boy, am I happy with how this came out!

This quilt is so easy and fast, that even a very early beginner could do it, and it would make a great weekend project! This is all done with just one cut from 2½” strips in different colors and then arranged to make sweet flowers.

I put together a new free PDF downloadable pattern, recolored in the blue shades with all the info you’ll need to make your own. And, I filmed this YouTube video for the original quilt that shows you how to cut your pieces and lay them out. I even included pressing tips to make all your blocks come together effortlessly.

The free PDF pattern has three size options: Lap, Twin, and Queen size with full-color layouts. I know many of you may want to make this quilt with exactly the fabrics that I used, so we made kits for the quilt!

One kit will make the Lap size, two kits will make the Twin size, and three kits will make the Queen size. You can use either the Mini or the Large 60-degree Diamond Ruler, and I demoed both rulers in the YouTube video. Let the fun begin 🙂

Happy Sunday everyone,

Krista
