Welcome to 1611 Union Street!

Today is the day! I'm excited to share my latest pattern, this is 1611 Union Street! The magic of 3D is combined with the perfect stripes (of course ;) all accomplished with color and shade...light, medium, and dark in each color. And NO Y seams!!

This pattern concept has been in my sketchbook for at least four years now because I was waiting for the perfect fabric to hit the market. And, it finally happened! You get a 3D effect when you use light, medium, and dark in the same color, so I needed a matching medium and dark stripe to get those striped buildings to pop.

In today's YouTube video, I walk you through the cutting and assembly process. I also show you the layout to turn “buildings” into rows. As I said, there are no Y seams, so this goes together fast in vertical columns.

Of course, we built kits for this one! I couldn’t decide on what colorway to kit, so we did them both! Haha! I love the purple/coral version, but I also love the red/orange one (especially for boys) too!

The pattern (printed) (digital PDF) comes with two size layouts: the lap/twin size (56”x69”) and the wall size (44”x44”). The kits are for the larger size, and you could in theory make two of the wall size from one kit. You'll also need the Large 60 Degree Diamond Ruler for this pattern, as the pieces are just too large for either the Mini or the Tiny ruler.

Okay, that’s all the exciting news I have for today :)

Happy Sunday everyone,

Krista
